Listen to Selected Original Music Compositions
Below Are a Few of Kevin's Compositions for Piano The following are MIDI files of several of my music compositions. Click on the links below to play them. You will need software such as Windows Media Player to hear them. Enjoy! The first four compositions I'm posting here are from a suite for piano I'm still working on. The piece is entitled "Washington, D.C." and is something of a tourist's view of our nation's capital. Each piece describes a location within the city or an event that occurred there. You may need to turn your speakers up to hear the quieter passages. Remember, these are MIDI files and not actual recordings of a real performer, so you'll have to use your imagination some when listening to them. Play "The Air and Space Museum" Play "The Washington Monument" If you happen to be a musician and listened to the above selections, you might have noticed the imitations of various composers' styles I've employed... it's intended as a sort of tongue-in-cheek commentary. If you like what you've heard (or if you don't like what you've heard) and want to discuss it further with me, by all means, send Kevin mail! The following piece is one I wrote when in a whimsical mood: Finally, the piece that follows is a short diatonic work for piano. I originally wrote it for a friend of mine, but she didn't like it much. It is basically one long, extended melody in a slow tempo with diatonic harmony. Hopefully you'll like it better than she did! Try playing it and see! I just played some of the above MIDI files back myself and noted that some of them aren't particularly realistic-sounding. Like I said above, the listener must use the imagination to fill in the gaps left by MIDI. Thanks for listening! I hope you like what you've heard. If you are interested in hearing more of my compositions, or have questions about my music, or anything else, for that matter, send Kevin mail! I'd love to hear from you.
