This painting was inspired by a photo I took in Northern Arizona as a rare spring thunderstorm built in the waning hours of the afternoon, clouds lit by the sun low on the horizon, above a field of wildflowers. Naturally, this is not an attempt at "copying" that photo or true realism; rather, its impressionism is meant to capture the emotion and feeling of the moment at which the photo was snapped. The contrasting color schemes between the sky and the flowers in the foreground was intentional and proved to be quite striking. This painting is a steal at $50!
